What if my parents were British – would I qualify then? ;-) -John from Canada. I would love to see a British installer show up from BG, then have to go home for the proper adapters.

  2. thepcmom:

Boo! My family has been your fan since Red Dwarf.. and we are here in the good ole USA with a Leaf and a Volt for our Vehicles. You need a World Wide Competition!

T&C ‘By entering this Competition you agree to being contacted by British Gas in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. British Gas may contact you via email, phone, post or SMS to provide you with more information on any of the products mentioned in the competition video. Once British Gas has contacted you for this purpose, your details will be destroyed.’

If you do get contacted, then feel free to recommend that they increase their R&D budget for electric cars.

Oh, I can see the need for sponsorship if you want to increase the number of viewers you reach. It’s just that I feel uncomfortable by having a thoroughly fossil company as BG sponsoring a program about renewable energy. Leopards can change their spots, true, but it’s quite rare.

I also feel uncomfortable about the “smart” meter and the amount of data you give away as a consumer. This concern is not addressed in this series (understandable from BG’s point of view).

He needed sponsorship it’s not a secret. Regardless of your view of BG. Leopards can change their spots, if they don’t want to be left behind. Look at GM. These programs have done more for promoting EV/Energy tech than any other media…

  6. LG046NL:

so the fully charged show is now a UK only show?
or will they install it al over the world ;-)

  7. SolarWebsite:

I can’t help but wonder how the BG sponsorship is influencing the contents of the show. I can clearly tell it’s done wonders for the level of production, that’s great. But I can’t help to feel that all the hubbub about smart metering (which *has* disadvantages for consumers) is being pushed by BG. I would like so much for Robert to comment on this.

Other than that, very nice show, been a fan since the beginning. I wish it’d make it to mainstream TV. People need to learn about this stuff.

While the competition is being hosted on Facebook, you do NOT need a Facebook account to enter.

  11. DottyDotDitto:

I’d like to see the BritishGas employee when they tell him he has a 20hour flight ahead of him to install it.

Haven’t read the Ts and Cs, but I suspect Netherlands is out and a Facebook requirement pushes it even further.
If it is, indeed limited to UK it should be stated up front, as well the need to sign up for FB. Everyone is just clamoring for ‘clicks’.

  13. miniUMM:

    good luck
